Welcome to New Cotton Blend’s first post in partnership with Winc wine club – the easiest way to enjoy and learn about one of life’s simple pleasures! Winc is a monthly subscription wine club, that teaches you about wine, identifies wines you’ll love, and opens your world to new wines you might not ever find or try if you were shopping in the store. Tay and I handpicked the 3 bottles that came in our first box, and Winc helped us identify exactly what our palates were looking for. Curated just for us!

Winc brought us out of our red wine comfort zone…our first bottle – a White Blend

We ate this with buffalo chicken (…yep real fancy over here). The crisp and cool sensation was so refreshing after a spicy bite. Dry whites pair well with tangy, more full bodied flavors, like buffalo sauce! We aren’t fans of sweet wines – and “dry” means a less sugary wine. This Edelzwicker is a light bodied white wine, but is by no means lacking in flavor. You’ll taste notes of apricot, jasmine, and peach – tastes like summer!

The 2015 Edelzwicker is vegan, and best served chilled. Winc recommends serving with cheeses and veggies, or accompanying rich, spicy flavors like those in Thai food. I also think this white blend would be so yummy with marinated mushrooms, or sliced Gouda as an appetizer. We loved the initial fruit-forward sip, and dry, earthy finish!
