Summer Sips Series: Tito’s + Basil Blueberry Lemonade

Welcome to the third, and final (!), Summer Sips Series of 2020! Three months of summer, and three thirst quenching cocktails to celebrate! Have you read the first two? While these two bevies were delish, and certainly hits this summer – I’ve saved the best for last!

This low carb cocktail is so light and refreshing, using Tay & I’s favorite vodka, Tito’s! We recently were successful in keeping a basil plant alive for more than a few days (…the Wilson’s all have green thumbs, can’t quite say that for the Cotton genes in me). With all this basil, it’d be a crime to not make a basil lemonade! Add sweet blueberries + some Tito’s in there, and you’ve got yourself one heck of a cocktail. Not drinking? Just make the blueberry basil lemonade, and forego the vodka! Check out the step by step:

Tito’s + Blueberry Basil Lemonade

Barware

Cocktail shaker with strainer

Small bowl and muddler (though I just used a spoon!)

Your cutest cocktail glass!

Ingredients (for 1 cocktail)

1oz Tito’s Vodka

1/2 packet sugar free lemonade drink mix (use the other half for your drinking buddy!)

6oz Water

8-10 blueberries, smashed (would also be delish with blackberries!)

8-10 leaves of fresh basil, sliced thin

Cocktail Assembly

Fill your cocktail glass with ice. Add all ingredients into your cocktail shaker. SHAKE SHAKE SHAKE! Strain/Pour over ice. Garnish with another leaf of fresh basil!
